Testing

We have 2 different types of COVID-19 testing available at our office.  The decision regarding which test to use is based on an algorithm that has been designed by our physicians.

The Cepheid Xpert Xpress test is capable of testing for RSV, Influenza A&B, as well as COVID-19. The cash price for this test is $250.00.  We will bill insurance and send a statement for any balance due after the claim is processed.

The Sofia test is capable of testing for COVID-19.  The cash price for the test is $100.  We will, of course, bill your insurance and send a statement for any balance due after the claim is processed.

Please call 309-662-0504 and select option 1 to speak with a pediatric nurse to determine if your child should be tested. 

Check in**

**Effective May 9, 2022, we will begin phasing out some of our Covid pre-testing protocols. When you speak with a nurse to schedule your child's ill visit appointment, they will advise if you still need to have a Covid test prior to coming in for an appointment with the provider.**

If the nurse advises you will need a Covid test BEFORE coming in: When you arrive for your appointment, please enter through the North parking lot and go to the very back and park in a designated Covid Testing space. Remain in your vehicle and text the number on the sign with the patient name and the parking space letter. A lab tech will come to your vehicle to test the patient. Please note: if we are experiencing *unpleasant* weather, you may be asked to pull your vehicle up under the overhang at the front entrance to the building so that our lab staff have more protection from the elements in which to perform the testing. After testing, you will be asked to move to a regular parking space to await the result. If the test is positive, your appointment will be via telemedicine. If the test is negative, your appointment will be in the office. Please follow current check in procedure for in-office visits.
