COVID 19 Information

**SCROLL DOWN FOR VACCINE APPOINTMENT INFORMATION**

We would like to offer our patients and families some information and advice pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic.

First and foremost, please educate yourself on this illness.  Some reliable sources of information include the CDC and WHO websites.

COVID-19 can present with a myriad of symptoms. Reasons to call us include, but are not limited to:

  • Fever (greater than 100.4) at onset if under 4 years of age
  • Fever at day 3 if not resolving
  • Severe cough, wheezing, or shortness of breath
  • Significant dehydration, vomiting or refusal to drink
  • Changes or alterations in behavior or consciousness
  • Significant sore throat, chest pain, ear pain, or headache
  • Suspicious or unusual rashes
  • If you are very concerned that your child looks unwell

If in doubt, please call the office and discuss with one of the pediatric nurses.

If your child is scheduled for a well child visit and is NOT well, please notify our office as quickly as possible to change the nature of your child’s appointment or reschedule it.  Your child will NOT BE SEEN for a well visit if they are ill.

At this time we have eliminated ALL WALK UP HOURS.

In an effort to decrease spread of illness, all “touchables” have been removed from exam rooms and common areas.   This includes books, toys, stickers, etc.

We will be vigilant about cleaning down exam rooms and common areas.   To that end, please be patient with us as this may take extra time between patients.

Please remember basic precautions: wash your hands frequently, try not to touch your face, sneeze/cough into your elbow.

Avoid crowded places when possible, reschedule unnecessary travel, and avoid visiting others when you are ill.

Please continue to refer to reliable sources for updates regarding this situation.

As always, we have pediatric nurses in the office available during the day, and the triage line available after hours to help address your concerns.   At this time, please be understanding as response times may be longer than typical.

We will continue to make changes as needed based on new information and announcements.  There may be times when we need to make changes to our scheduling to best protect patients and staff.  We ask for your understanding and patience during this time.

Please read on for detailed information on scheduling a Covid-19 vaccine appointment.
