Pre-Check-In for Appointments

We are excited to share with our patient families a new feature in the Patient Portal, effective Wednesday, May 22, 2024: Pre-Check-In! 


Up to 7 days before an appointment, families will have the option to complete the demographic and insurance update portion of the check in process from their patient portal. You will receive a notification 2 days before the appointment to remind you that you may begin the check in process - simply log in to the patient portal and click the orange start button.


You may then edit or confirm the information we have on file. Once all sections have been confirmed, click Submit and your edits or additions will be sent directly to the patient chart!


A few things to keep in mind:

  • At this time, only well visits and mental/behavioral health appointments will be enabled for Pre-Check-In. We will add in other appointment types gradually!
    • Please still plan to stop at the front desk to let us know you have arrived, even if you complete Pre-Check-In.
  • Families with multiple children coming for an appointment on the same day will need to complete check in for each patient individually as they each will have their own appointment time.
  • Only the patient portal user who is associated with the billing account can complete Pre-Check-In. We are unable to change the portal user association based on who is bringing in the patient for the appointment, so families should consider who the primary person should be in our system! 
    • If you do not receive a notification for Pre-Check-In, it could be because there is no portal user associated with the billing account. Please give us a call to set that up!
  • Parents of patients who have reached age 18 will not have access to the patient portal or Pre-Check-In unless the patient has completed a release indicating they wish for their parent to be granted that continued access.
